I tend to take the MrMobile approach to ethics in producing media. In my opinion, paid advertising and genuine opinion should stay holy separate. And with that, YouTubers/Media Companies that make an effort to keep these categories separate are the ones that I hold the most respect for. I also credit MrMobile as the inspiration and a format for this ethics statement, though no line is an exact copy it is clear I’ve used the basic format and topic of it. No AI was used in the creation of this ethics statement.

Tornow1500 is a personal project that achieves this naturally because it is not currently big enough to attract any sponsorships or attention from companies in general that are the most common subjects of videos on the channel. So if you are watching a Tornow1500, it is almost guaranteed to be made independently with no outside influence or input. All my review videos are made impartially to the best of my ability, and when I do get to the size that attracts corporate attention it will stay that way.

I didn’t make this channel, nor did I get into the business of tech reviewing to make advertisements. The main purpose of this channel is to share my opinions on technology that I find interesting, as well as to share projects that I’m doing. These purposes will never be impeded by monetary incentive or paid promotion. That being said, there might come the day that I will become a larger channel and I will start getting sponsor offers. However, I will never let those hinder or change the channels purpose, nor let companies pay for positive coverage.

Of course, there are certain things to be aware of when making both traditional journalism and paid content. However, I promise to make clear all content that is sponsored with proper labelling, you will know when the content is organic/earned and when it is sponsored/paid.

The YouTube Channel

Tornow1500 does not create or post full-length sponsored videos on the YouTube channel. All videos on the channel are expressing my opinion, is written by me and I control the video production schedule. No company can pay for preferential video release scheduling, or pay me to produce a video I wouldn’t create otherwise. I choose the products I cover, the videos I create and the topics of said videos, and I make those choices based on personal preference, newsworthiness and interest.
